Ottawa jazz vocalist Karen Oxorn is delighted to return to GigSpace for a concert in celebration of The Big 7-O!
Although she doesn’t present many shows these days, she is delighted to celebrate this milestone birthday with music. For her 60th birthday in 2016, Karen put on a show entitled “From 0 to 60: A Birthday Celebration in Song.” Now, for her 70th birthday, she’s returning with a new show created to mark the beginning of this new decade.
“Another Decade, Another Show” is named with a nod to a Cole Porter song from the musical “Kiss Me, Kate.” The set list will feature songs by some of Karen’s favourite composers and lyricists of the Great American Songbook including Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, George and Ira Gershwin, Frank Loesser, Rodgers and Hart, and, of course, Cole Porter (but with a different song from the same musical.) The concert will showcase songs which Karen has performed…
