We have an 88 Key donor board with each donor’s name listed mounted on the wall in beside the entrance to GigSpace.

GigSpace has been most fortunate and very thankful for the gracious loan of an acoustic grand piano for the past few years from Al Whatmough of Pianocraft, Ottawa.  Because of Al’s generous loan, GigSpace has attracted some of the best jazz pianists from Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and New York to perform in our beautiful venue.

The time has come for GigSpace to purchase a grand piano.  We are very excited as we pull together a series of grand piano fundraising events, especially with the support we are receiving from Ottawa pianists, local businesses and the continued generosity of the community!

We are planning to purchase a gently used Yamaha 6′ grand piano.

Dec 20, 2014  – We bought three keys with the proceeds from our Jazzin’ the Holidays Concert!   Our Grand Piano Kick off event is tied in with our annual GigSpace fundraiser; Jazzin’ the Holidays. Jazz pianist Brian Browne will be performing on December 20, 2014 with the GigSpace house band.

January 2015 – We were very grateful that two of our concert presenters donated money to us from their concert or CD sales! Thank you Elise Letourneau who donated through CD sales for her new album with Brian Browne, “The Long & Winding Road” with Brian Browne, and thank you to Karen Oxorn who donated from her concert proceeds, “An (Almost) all Request concert & Brittany Celebration”

Feb 7, 2015 – We bought four keys with the proceeds from our Second Grand Piano concert fundraiser features three of Ottawa’s finest jazz pianists; Steve Boudreau , Mark Ferguson & Clayton Connell. Steve has invited several jazz pianists to join him for an evening of jazz standards and originals. 88 Key fundraiser will receive net proceeds from this concert and the evenings bar sales.

For our 88 Key Grand Piano Fundraiser we “sold” 88 piano keys:
$200 = 1 key or $100 = 1/2 key or donate any amount was welcome.
