In 1962, pianist Bill Evans and guitarist Jim Hall recorded Undercurrent, a groundbreaking album that stripped away the safety net of bass and drums to redefine chamber jazz. Followed by 1966’s Intermodulation, these recordings set the gold standard for duo interplay—built on radical listening, subtle counterpoint, and effortless dynamic shading.
Two of Ottawa's finest jazz artists, pianist Mark Ferguson and guitarist Tim Bedner, bring these timeless albums to life. Both renowned for their deep harmonic vocabulary and intuitive sensitivity, Ferguson and Bedner honor the spirit of the original sessions while adding their own creative voices.
