You’ll find Courage4 far from the beaten path. This unique jazz quartet, normally made up of singer/pianist Martine Courage, violinist Laura Nerenberg, bassist/saxophonist Rob Frayne and drummer, Mike Essoudry, combines jazz standards with adventurous arrangements, trancy moods and compelling grooves. For this concert, Courage4 will feature Chris Pond on upright bass and Zakari Frantz on alto saxophone.

From the rollicking “If I Only Had a Brain” and the funk-inflected “Just Friends” to the atmospheric “You’d Be So Nice to Come Home to,” a set of the quartet’s music hits all the right notes.   martinecourage.ca
