Guitarist Sam Kirmayer's new recording, In This Moment, is a musical experience that depicts emotional landscapes experienced during the pandemic; melancholy, uncertainty, determination, hope and solidarity. Kirmayer presents his new original compositions arranged for a group of All-star musicians from the Montreal scene. With memorable melodies, elaborate arrangements, bold solos, and a strong sense of swing, In This Moment affirms Kirmayer's singular voice as a composer and arranger.

About Sam Kirmayer:  One of CBC Music’s picks for the “35 Best Canadian Jazz Musicians Under 35”, Sam Kirmayer “plays guitar the way it should be played,”“never overstated and always expressed with good taste” (All About Jazz). He has released three albums as a leader, most recently In This Moment (Cellar Music, 2022). In all of his projects, his playing and compositions showcase a sincere and unpretentious musicality. Sam has performed at many jazz festivals and clubs across Canada, and has been teaching at Concordia University since 2020.
