The Sonny Stitt tribute concert will feature René Lavoie (sax/flute) Mark Ferguson (Hammond organ) and Scott Latham (drums). The trio will perform compositions by Sonny Stitt as well as repertoire from organ trio recordings featuring saxophone greats such as Bob Mintzer.

René Lavoie attended various jazz workshops with Sonny Stitt in the mid to late 70s at York University and Mark Ferguson performed with Sonny Stitt with Ottawa’s own Solid Brass in the early 70s. Join the trio for an evening of sensational music with stories from René and Mark about their real-life encounters with Sonny Stitt - an absolute virtuoso and innovative modern alto and tenor Jazz Saxophone Master.
