Trombone Summit Returns! 

After three years of solitary individual practice, the members of Ottawa’s finest two-trombone jazz trio are finally reuniting for an in-person performance at GigSpace!

Trombonists Peter Turner and Mark Ferguson draw from a vast repertoire of tunes that showcase the unique features of their instrument.  With accompaniment from guitar virtuoso Tim Bedner, this event promises a swinging mix of popular and lesser-known standards - with good humour and a few surprises along the way.

In addition to being one of Canada’s top trombonists, Mark Ferguson is a pianist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator. Peter Turner studied privately with Mark in the late-1980s and performs with various traditional jazz groups in Ottawa and Toronto.  Tim Bedner is a performance instructor at Carleton University and in high demand as a guitarist for singers and instrumentalists.

Since the early 2000s, the Trombone Summit has appeared about once every couple of  years.  Their last performance - in January 2020 - was sold out well in advance.  Reserve early to avoid disappointment!
